- Exfoliation of the facial skin leads to exfoliation of the superficial layer of the skin and removes dead cells and excess oil from its surface and can be productive, but not more often than once a week.
- Regular daily use of moisturizing cream after washing the face is definitely recommended to maintain a light protective film on the surface of the skin, which can affect the reduction of sebum secretion and prevent the expansion of pores on the face.
Recommendation of a specialist doctor - what can and what can't be used
For people who have oily or problematic skin with enlarged pores, blackheads and spots, in addition to regular laser treatments 2 to 3 times a year, it is recommended to use preparations with fruit acids or retinol to maintain the achieved result.
It is not recommended to use products that dry the skin too much. Too aggressive preparations, especially based on alcohol and a high percentage of salicylic acid at the beginning, can lead to a reduction of oiliness and temporarily slightly improve the appearance of enlarged pores. However, with long-term use of such preparations, the condition of the skin worsens significantly, because the dried skin defends itself with increased production of sebum – fat.
