How does Botox work?
When botox is injected in small doses by a trained doctor into specific muscles, their excessive contraction is prevented. In this way, wrinkles are prevented from forming where they are usually most pronounced, and already existing ones are softened. It is most often used in patients between 30 and 70 years of age.

Botox is recommended for the elimination of wrinkles in the forehead region and in the area around the eyes, as well as for the discreet and subtle erasure of signs of aging or as prevention in preventing the formation of new wrinkles.
During the treatment, Botox is applied in very small amounts to certain regions, thereby blocking the work of the muscles that participate in the creation of wrinkles by enhancing facial expressions. Does facial botox give a plastic look?

How long does a Botox treatment last?
The treatment itself lasts a short time, about ten minutes.
How long is the recovery period and what should not be done after Botox treatment?
The doctor’s recommendation is to rest for a few hours after the treatment, after which it is possible to continue the daily routine of life.
It is not recommended to use the swimming pool, sauna, sunbathing and exercise in the first 2 days after the treatment.

The results of Botox usually last about 4 months (which depends on the skin type, age and health of the patient). The treatment can be repeated 3 times a year, with prior consultation with a doctor.
Botox - when can this wrinkle removal procedure be started?
Experts in the field of medicine agree that this procedure can be started at the first sign of mimic wrinkles. In this way, the formation of the first deep wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows and around the eyes – smile lines – is prevented, and the appearance of signs of aging is slowed down. That is, it can serve as prevention.
When Botox is started in the thirties, it is usually used to maintain a youthful appearance.
If this procedure is started in the forties, its role is usually to remove wrinkles and delay the appearance of new ones.
Botox complications - what are the possible side effects after Botox treatment?
- headache or mild nausea – may occur after the first Botox application, but usually pass after 48 hours,
- a bruise at the site of botox application – it recedes after 3 to 5 days,
- slight swelling at the application sites.
All of the above are normal and harmless side effects that usually last a short time and disappear very quickly, which depends on genetics and lifestyle.
When not to do Botox treatment - what are the contraindications for Botox?
Botox is usually a comfortable procedure if tested and certified preparations are used by an educated and professional medical specialist.
But there are absolute contraindications for botox application.
Botox should not be used:
- in case of allergies to Botox and the ingredients of that preparation,
- pregnancy,
- breastfeeding,
- neurological diseases,
- malignant diseases.

Botox price
The price of Botox at the Diva Polyclinic depends on the region being treated:

Does the face "freeze" after the Botox treatment?
It is true that Botox reduces the work of the muscles, in order to prevent their excessive contraction, but when the procedure is performed by a specialist doctor with experience who determines the adequate dose, the natural expression of the face is preserved.
Is it permissible to use make-up after the procedure?
It is not recommended to apply cream and make-up 24 hours after the procedure. It is recommended to wash normally and avoid putting pressure on the areas where Botox was injected.
Is it possible to lie down or sleep after the procedure?
4 hours after the procedure, it is not recommended to lie down and bend your head forward.
Can we go on the road after this procedure?
Yes, by any means of transport, even by plane. The only reason why the specialist doctors at the Diva Polyclinic do not recommend traveling before the Botox starts working is so that they can perform a follow-up examination in the following days.
