Hyaluronidase for melting hyaluronic fillers
Hyaluronidase is a special enzyme that is used to dissolve hyaluronic fillers when too much hyaluronan has been applied or when it has been injected in the wrong place. This procedure for the correction of inadequate application of hyaluronan in the Diva Polyclinic is performed by specialist doctors with more than 3 decades of experience.

Patients turn to us from time to time to solve the problem, that is, to make a correction, when due to an inadequate injection of hyaluronic acid, there was asymmetry of the face, lips or the appearance of bags under the eyes, as well as when they do not like the result after the procedure of placing hyaluronic fillers. When, for example, the lips or cheekbones are oversized, i.e. they have too much volume.

During a free consultation, our specialist doctors, with decades of experience, will assess the condition of the skin, whether this procedure is optimal, and what results can be expected.

Our specialist doctors effectively solve this problem and for this purpose use hyaluronidase – an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronan.

To understand how this enzyme works, let’s first mention what hyaluronan is. It is a natural substance present in our body. It is able to bind water and in this way leads to tissue hydration and restores the vitality and youthful appearance of the skin and lips.
Bearing in mind that after the age of 25, the skin begins to slowly lose tone, elasticity, fullness and the first fine lines begin to appear, a frequent choice for preserving a youthful appearance is hyaluronic fillers. They make up for the lack of hyaluronic acid in our body and naturally encourage our skin to hydrate.
Also, they can correct the lost volume in places where the subcutaneous fatty tissue melts in the aging process of the skin, which additionally improves tone and freshness with a lifting effect on the face and neck.
For all the above reasons, hyaluronan has become very popular in antiaging for skin rejuvenation and correction of facial and lip contours. However, it can happen that too much hyaluronic is injected, it is applied to the wrong place or it leads to asymmetry. What to do then?

Does it matter who applies the hyaluronic acid?

It is recommended that an educated, certified specialist doctor be chosen for this procedure in order to avoid complications.

Can hyaluronic acid be injected incorrectly?

Unfortunately, yes, even in such a situation, you need to contact a specialist doctor on time.

What are the side effects of poorly applied hyaluronic fillers? What can cause side effects?

Although hyaluronic fillers need from 6 to 12 months to be completely absorbed in the body, sometimes the dissolution of hyaluronic acid needs to be done earlier due to:

  • poor injection techniques,
  • in situations where the wrong filler is used,
  • if too much hyaluronic acid has been injected,
  • when there is a pronounced change in the shape of the lips and the contour of the face – when they are placed in the wrong place, asymmetry can also occur,
  • and the most serious complication can be if the patient’s blood vessel is hit during the injection, which can lead to tissue necrosis.

Who to turn to in that situation?

In any of these situations, it is important to see a specialist doctor who is experienced in the treatment of complications with hyaluronidase.

What is hyaluronidase?

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that hydrolyzes – breaks down hyaluronic acid – eliminates excess fluids and facilitates their absorption.

How does hyaluronidase work? How does this enzyme dissolve hyaluronan?

Hyaluronidase efficiently breaks down hyaluronic acid. That is why our specialist doctors use it to melt inadequately applied hyaluronic fillers.

The enzyme hyaluronidase is used to break down hyaluronan and accumulated fluid. And it can actively act on the softening of fibrous tissue, which in very rare cases can appear as a late complication of the application of hyaluronic fillers.

This late complication usually occurs 4 to 12 weeks after treatment.

How is hyaluronidase used? What does the hyaluronan dissolution process look like?

First, an anesthetic is applied in the form of a cream before the intervention itself.

Before the procedure, a skin test is performed – a hyaluronidase allergy test to determine if there is an allergy to this enzyme.

If the test is negative (the organism does not show a reaction in the form of redness at the site of the skin test), hyaluronidase can be applied by injection. During the injection, the region is gently massaged, so that the enzyme can better penetrate the tissue where the hyaluronan is located.

With this method, it is possible to dissolve hyaluronan completely or partially (in situations where only the excess needs to be removed), after which re-contouring can be done.

Hyaluronidase for dissolving hyaluronan on the lips

This is the most frequently requested procedure, because mistakes are most visible on the lips. Dissolving hyaluronic fillers in the lips is done completely or only partially, if it is necessary to fix asymmetry, the same as in other regions.

How long does it take to see the results of hyaluronidase?

The action of the enzyme starts immediately, as soon as it comes into contact with the hyaluronic fillers. The final results are visible after 48 hours.

How many treatments are needed to dissolve hyaluronic fillers?

The number of treatments varies from patient to patient. At the DIVA polyclinic, our specialist doctor will determine how many treatments you need to remove hyaluronan during a FREE consultation.

Is this treatment painful?

The treatment is comfortable thanks to the use of anesthetic cream. It should be known that with this method, fewer stitches are needed than for the usual application of the fillers themselves.

When hyaluronidase is used, can I undergo the procedure of applying hyaluronic fillers again?

Yes, but it is necessary to take a break of at least a few weeks after the filler dissolution treatment.

After melting the hyaluronan in the dark circles with hyaluronidase, correction was made with hyaluronan fillers.

Side effects after dissolving fillers - do they exist?

After the treatment, there may be a feeling that the skin that has been treated has softened slightly and discreetly lost its tone. It is a normal reaction that passes after 3 to 5 days.

Does hyaluronidase also destroy our natural tissue?

Don’t worry because hyaluronidase only dissolves the hyaluronic filler.

Hyaluronidase – price?

The cost of the hyaluronan removal procedure with hyaluronidase in the Diva Polyclinic is from 150 to 250 euros in dinars.

For the price of other procedures, see our PRICE LIST.

NOTE:

Whether this procedure is the right choice for a certain type and condition of the skin will be assessed by a specialist doctor during a free consultation, and accordingly propose an adequate procedure. How many treatments are needed is individual and depends on several factors.
