When is hair PRP applied?

It is used to treat:

  • in case of sudden hair loss,
  • thin hair that breaks easily,
  • slow-growing hair,
  • seborrhea and dandruff,
  • excessive oiliness of the scalp.
  • sometimes hair loss on seals, and
  • hereditary baldness.

When it comes to patients who have previously undergone a hair transplant, it has been noted that the application of this hair therapy improves the retention of the transplanted hair follicles.

How does hair PRP work?

PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma is obtained by centrifuging the patient’s blood and is full of platelets that release growth factors. It is responsible for faster natural healing and regeneration of damaged tissue.

The procedure naturally stimulates hair follicles to grow, regenerate the scalp and influence the creation of new blood vessels.

What does hair PRP look like at the "Diva" polyclinic?

First, a specialist doctor determines the cause of hair loss and, based on that, makes a decision about the best method for treating the resulting condition.

This is a simple dermatological procedure that requires a small amount of blood to be drawn from the patient to extract platelets that release growth factors. That blood is centrifuged with a special device, and then the resulting serum is applied to the skin with very thin needles, using the mesotherapy technique.

In the next 10 days after the procedure, the activity of growth factors increases, which helps in the regeneration of the scalp, better blood circulation and hydration of the scalp.

Is this procedure a safe method?

Adverse reactions during the application of this minimally invasive method have not been recorded so far, because the patient’s own plasma is used, and no allergic or immune reaction of the organism is expected. Slight redness may occur and is present for 24 hours after the procedure.

PRP hair therapy is a frequent choice of patients who visit the “Diva” polyclinic to treat thinning hair or strengthen existing hair and to achieve the effect of lush hair.

How successful is the PRP hair procedure?

According to research, the success rate of applying PRP hair therapy varies depending on the degree of damage, genetics, age of the patient, hormonal status and lifestyle of each individual and can reach 70% efficiency.

Excellent results are achieved when combined with hair mesotherapy.

The results last about a year, which depends on the previous thinning and quality of the hair, the age of the patient, genetics, hormonal status and lifestyle of each individual.

Better results are achieved if treatments are started at an early stage.

How many treatments need to be done in order to achieve the desired effect, as well as how long the procedure will last, will be assessed by the doctors of the Diva Polyclinic during a free consultation.

What are the stages of hair growth?

There are 3 stages that hair goes through during growth:
  • the anagen or active growth phase lasts about 1,000 days when it comes to hair,
  • the catagen or shedding phase lasts from one to two weeks,
  • the telogen or resting phase lasts 2 to 3 months.
Usually, around 80% – 90% of the hair is in the growth phase, 20% – 30% in the shedding phase, and around 1% in the shedding phase. About 60 to 100 hairs fall out daily, and if it increases, it is necessary to consult a doctor.
