How can dilated capillaries and vascular changes on the face and décolleté be treated and removed?

Clinical practice has shown that laser therapy is the optimal and effective solution for removing capillaries and vascular changes. At the Diva polyclinic, patients have 4 medical lasers at their disposal:

  • Q switch vascular laser – Nano Q,
  • Lumecca laser,
  • D light SR laser,
  • Nd:Yag laser.

Doctors specializing in dermatology at the “Diva” polyclinic use precisely these lasers because they have proven to be an excellent and effective therapy for capillaries and correcting skin irregularities.

2 to 3 laser treatments are usually enough to remove capillaries and vascular changes.

What does laser hair removal look like?

The laser beam passes through the skin without damaging it because it is resorbed exclusively in the blood vessels, and the light energy of the beam turns into thermal energy, which leads to the coagulation of the blood vessels and their elimination – “erasure”.

The thermal energy produced by the lasers accumulates in the lumen of the treated blood vessels and leads to the blinding of their walls, thereby producing the effect of closing the capillaries.

Vascular lasers are among the most precise medical lasers because they have high selectivity, which means that they are resorbed exclusively in the lumen of blood vessels. Passing through other tissues, they do not cause any damage because they are completely invisible to them at that wavelength (laser energy is not absorbed in them).

Advantages of laser capillary removal

In the Diva polyclinic for the removal of capillaries and vascular changes, we have 4 medical lasers at our disposal, and regardless of which of them we use in a specific case, the procedure is:

  • comfortable for the patient (the laser has contact cooling),
  • non-invasive,
  • there is no recovery period (makeup can be used immediately after the treatment),
  • the treatment lasts a short time,
  • no signs of irritation after the laser (redness of the skin, flaking, swelling…),
  • the number of visible capillaries and vascular changes is significantly reduced, and the skin looks fresh and taut,
  • at the same time, these lasers have proven to be the OPTIMAL therapy for the treatment of rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis!

What does the removal of capillaries and vascular changes on the face look like with a laser?

No special preparation is required for this laser treatment, only the skin should not be exposed to the sun for 3 to 4 weeks before the procedure. During the laser beam treatment itself, capillaries or vascular changes are treated.

Placed laser energy is converted into thermal energy in the blood vessel itself, which leads to coagulation and blinding of the treated blood vessel, thus eliminating it with a long-term effect.

The treatment is comfortable thanks to contact cooling of the skin, so there is no need to use local anesthesia.

Which capillaries can be removed by laser - indications for laser treatment of capillaries?

  • telangiectasias
  • spider nevi,
  • capillaries,
  • angiomas,
  • wilted,
  • venous capillaries.

How many treatments are needed to remove capillaries and vascular changes on the face and décolletage?

Most often, a series of 2 to 3 treatments is performed with breaks of 4 to 6 weeks (and it all depends on the patient’s age, skin type, genetics, hormonal status and lifestyle of each individual).

Who should not do laser capillary removal - contraindications?

  • people with epilepsy,
  • people who have malignant diseases,
  • people with systemic diseases,
  • those using anticoagulant drugs,
  • those with coagulopathy,
  • pregnant women.

Do dilated capillaries reoccur after removal?

If the capillaries are completely obliterated (“erased”) by laser treatment, they will not reappear in the treated area. It is important to emphasize that 20 to 30 days after the successful removal of the mentioned changes on the skin, it is necessary to use sun protection, i.e. creams with a high protection factor – SPF 50, because the skin is still sensitive to UV radiation.

How often should the removal of capillaries and vascular changes on the face be done?

Given that the aforementioned changes are influenced by the hereditary factor, after a few years new capillaries may slowly begin to appear in other places, when a new treatment to remove the resulting changes is recommended.

Are there any side effects of laser removal of capillaries and vascular changes?

In the Diva polyclinic, modern lasers with contact cooling of the skin are used, which protect the surrounding skin from damage and strictly selectively act on dilated capillaries. Side effects are extremely rare.

If they do occur, it is usually only mild redness that passes within 24 hours, which depends on genetics, skin type, age, hormonal status and lifestyle.

Why do dilated capillaries occur?

About 67% of people in the world, according to statistics, have dilated capillaries. This happens due to the fragility of the wall of small blood vessels, which depends on genetics, age, skin type, hormonal status and lifestyle.

They can appear in several forms:

  • isolated
  • in small groups – like twigs,
  • like a spider’s web or
  • like lines.

Causes of the appearance of capillaries on the skin

Dilated capillaries occur due to:

  • genetics,
  • during pregnancy,
  • prolonged exposure to wind or sun,
  • excess weight
  • the use of certain medications,
  • due to the influence of external factors (extremely high and low temperatures),
  • as a result of skin trauma.

At the Diva polyclinic, capillaries on the legs are also successfully removed with a laser!

Laser removal of capillaries on the legs is effective and comfortable, and at the Diva polyclinic, specialist doctors perform this therapy with a vascular Nd:YAG laser or Q switch nano laser. Read more about it in the text “Laser removal of capillaries on the legs“.
